The year 2026 is a special milestone for Škocjan Caves Park, Slovenia. It marks the 40th anniversary of the inscription of the Škocjan Caves on the UNESCO World Heritage List and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the protected area and its managing public institution.

The Škocjan Caves are one of the world's most outstanding karst phenomena, renowned for their exceptional underground canyon and rich natural and cultural heritage. Over the past decades, the park has developed into an internationally recognised example of nature conservation, scientific research, education, and sustainable tourism.

These anniversaries are an opportunity to celebrate past achievements, thank all those who have contributed to preserving this unique landscape, and reaffirm our commitment to protecting the outstanding universal value of Škocjan Caves for future generations.
